So initially, like most I was pissed at the changes, but I have had a chance to calm down a bit. However, that doesn't mean that I like all of them.
* Heavy Nerf was too big. You just don't nerf two stats (range and damage) and call it good. It's bad business and honestly, after playing my heavy, I'll not play it again until its fixed. * I'm ok with the fluffy stuff like graphics, in a lot of ways it makes sniping easier. * Not happy at all with the SP or ISK sinks. I understand that games have to have sinks, but we don't even have an economy yet and from my opinion (until CCP says otherwise) the sink was put in to hit the early Open Beta guys who amassed a fortune and got even more after today's patch. The fact is they aren't hit that hard. The one's who were really hit hard were the players who are not great players and can go 20+/0 in a match and not have to worry about buying new setups all the time. * Lots of controller response lag. Specifically the "Action" button. * I don't actually understand the logic, but Boosters are now set to x1.5, but base SP was lowered, I get the same amount of SP as I did before, why change anything if the net result is the same? * Server stability and FPS are a big issue as well. * Nothing against Logi, but the various nerf's to the other classes has cause an over abundance of Logi's. Shield Extender stacking is making them almost invulnerable and I have never seen so many Logi's in a Skirmish before. If the many players are choosing Logi, then there is a reason. * More of a complaint than a system issue, but I'm not sure how I feel about the "New" Manus Peak. As a sniper it was by far the best sniper map and the terrain changes to it just aren't kosher to me. I mean there isn't even a peak on the map anymore. It's the same across all the maps really. All the high point sniper locations were cut down in size, literally, and in turn making it much harder to get a better view of the battlefield. * Hit detection is still an issue, but not nearly as bad as before. Head glitching doesn't appear to be as bad either.. * Stats are screwed across the board now, not just in Skirmish, but in Ambush as well. Not sure why this wasn't fixed with the patch. Of course, it gives us all the chance to better ourselves without our stats turning for the worse during the new learner curve that some of us are going through.
For the other stuff, some of it is just going to have to take of measure of relearn and readjusting, such as the slower gameplay. Of course some of the slower gameplay is a direct result of the nerfs. Overall, I'm disappointed in Uprising. I wish I could find more nice things to say about it, but sadly I can't seem to find anything other than the fluff. |
